I bought this drive specifically for use with one of my Windows-based pcs. It works fantastic with that, which I expected, and the windows software program that comes using the drive is also wonderful and most welcome. I didn't, however, anticipate that it would function with my Macbook 1.83 gHz Core2 Duo. My internal optical drive is dying, and while it's pretty straightforward to make use of a network drive for installs and stuff, it's undoubtedly not as hassle-free to go back and forth to the other desk. The documentation and all but one of the evaluations had been pretty clear that this was not a Mac-friendly product, so I was pleasantly surprised when the Mighty MacBook jumped appropriate on playing the music cd within the drive. I was even more shocked when it burned a DVD under the native/finder/disk burning application (no third party software involved at all). (More...)
