LG GP08LU10 8x DVD±RW Slim Super Multi Drive with LightScribe

Product Review

I bought this drive specifically for use with one of my Windows-based pcs. It works fantastic with that, which I expected, and the windows software program that comes using the drive is also wonderful and most welcome. I didn't, however, anticipate that it would function with my Macbook 1.83 gHz Core2 Duo. My internal optical drive is dying, and while it's pretty straightforward to make use of a network drive for installs and stuff, it's undoubtedly not as hassle-free to go back and forth to the other desk. The documentation and all but one of the evaluations had been pretty clear that this was not a Mac-friendly product, so I was pleasantly surprised when the Mighty MacBook jumped appropriate on playing the music cd within the drive. I was even more shocked when it burned a DVD under the native/finder/disk burning application (no third party software involved at all). (More...)

LG Electronics GGC-H20L LightScribe Blu-Ray/HD DVD Combo Drive (Black)

Product Review

This really is the second drive I've gotten and have been extremely content with it. The included software program allows playback of each HDDVD and Blu-ray disks. The firmware update is simple using the application disk on-line. I don't feel this drive will likely be obtainable for long. (More Detail...)

LG Electronics 8X External Blu-ray ReWrite Drive BE08LU20 BLACK/RETAIL (Black)

Product Review

Purchased this external drive a month ago, because I wanted to maintain my present internal DVD drive. This LG BE08LU20 has worked flawlessly and produced excellent BD discs. I've burned and erased about ten times with BD-RE discs and have burned three BD-R discs. Each and every one turned out perfectly - no coasters. I've utilized good quality blank discs - Verbatim BD-R and BD-RE. I cannot speak for other brands, but critiques I've read indicate Verbatim has fewer difficulties. The USB connect is fantastic if you have no ESATA external outlet. But it is a lot slower than using ESATA. USB burns at 480 mb/s. ESATA burns at 1.five gb/s -- around 3 times faster. Substantially, LG consists of an external ESATA bracket, with a cable, so it is possible to simply produce an external ESATA outlet (assuming your personal computer has an open ESATA connect on the motherboard and an accessible slot in the back). The bracket is the standard large size, so if you have a smaller personal computer, like the Dell Inspiron, you will need to order a "low profile" ESATA bracket. (Review More...)

Vantec NexStar DX NST-530S2 5.25-Inch SATA to USB 2.0 Optical Drive External Enclosure (Black)

Product Review

This enclosure built like a tank! I purchased this to house my LG blu-ray drive. This enclosure fits my blu-ray drive like a glove. It is really quiet, even quieter than my laptop. The aluminum housing dissipates all heat, the enclosure is nonetheless cool to the touch even following 2,three hours operating. The blue light shows it truly is powered on and very bright in a dark room, but it assists remind you which you require to turn it off if not utilized. Information transfer is very quick, absolutely nothing to complaint there. The factor I'm happy most about this enclosure is it uses a standard energy cable. The converter is embedded inside the enclosure. This saves some a lot space on your multi-outlet. I am so glad I discovered this on Amazon. (Read More...)

LG Electronics CH08LS10K LightScribe SATA Blu-ray Combo Drive, Bulk (Black)

Product Review

I have an older Dell Precision with a Pentium 4. I was worried about getting the SATA set up, but it was no problem. I use the drive to extract MKVs and backup movies. So far, so good. Just know that to handle Blu-Rays, your PC should have an upgraded graphics card and power supply. Also, check out several different players because some will work better on your PC than others. I haven't burnt any CDs or DVDs with it, but have read elsewhere that it is pretty slow. So I left my old DVD burner in the 2nd bay. (More...)
